Dry Suit Diver
Stay warm, dive longer—learn to dive dry with Indy Scuba.
More season, more sites
Wanna stay warm and toasty on a dive? Then dive dry. A dry suit seals you off from the outside water—and that keeps you warm, even in surprisingly cold water. If you’re already a certified diver and you’re ready to stop letting water temperature dictate your diving, the PADI Dry Suit Diver specialty is your next smart step.
At Indy Scuba, we love this course because it opens doors: more comfortable dives, access to more challenging dive sites, and a longer dive season. Dry suits change what’s possible.
The Fun Part
Dry suits don’t just make you “less cold.” They make you more capable.
When you can manage your suit correctly, you can:
- Extend your dive season instead of packing it in when temperatures drop.
- Dive more challenging dive sites that might be uncomfortable (or impractical) in a wetsuit.
- Stay focused on the dive—your buoyancy, your buddy, and what you came to see—instead of counting down the minutes until you can get warm again.
If you’ve ever ended a dive early because you were chilled, you already understand why dry suit training matters.

Core techniques & habits
What You Learn
Dry suits are different. They add a new air space, new valves, and new ways to think about buoyancy and comfort. The Dry Suit Diver course is designed to make you confident in that system—so “dry” feels normal, not complicated.
Here are the core skills and techniques we cover:
- Dry Suit Familiarization
- Safety Checks
- Entry Techniques
You’ll practice building good habits that translate to real dives: getting comfortable with your equipment, checking the details that matter, and handling entries smoothly while wearing a suit that moves and behaves differently than neoprene.
Is this course right for you?
If you’re a certified diver who wants more cold-water comfort, this specialty is a great fit. It’s also ideal if you’re curious about expanding where—and when—you can dive.
Not sure whether a dry suit makes sense for your diving goals? We’re happy to talk it through. Tell us where you like to dive, what temperatures you’re dealing with, and what you want your next season to look like.
