What You Learn
Accurate navigation is based on thoughtful preparation. In the PADI Underwater Navigator Specialty course, we work on the skills you need to plan your route, stay oriented underwater, and return efficiently.
You’ll practice navigation skills with your instructor both on land and underwater, building confidence step-by-step so the techniques stick when conditions change.
The Scuba Gear You Use
You’ll use your regular scuba equipment, plus navigation tools appropriate for the course. If you’re wondering what to bring or what you might want to add to your kit, we’ll help you sort that out as you plan your class.
The Learning Materials You Need
Because good navigation starts before you ever get in the water, PADI’s Navigation crewpak is designed to set you up for success. It includes everything needed to complete the Underwater Navigation specialty.
The manual and DVD preview the navigation skills you’ll practice with your instructor on land and underwater. You’ll also use the Nav-Finder to track where you’ve been and chart the most direct route back to the boat or shore.
