If you’ve ever looked at technical divers and wondered what’s different, this is your on-ramp. The DSAT Discover Tec experience (PADI Discover Tec) embraces the “Dive Today” and “Discover” philosophies—meaning you don’t have to commit to a full technical course just to find out what it feels like. You can begin your training where it matters most: in the water.

During one dive in the pool and one dive in open water, you’ll get to try the equipment and practice some of the procedures that separate technical diving from recreational diving. It’s hands-on, skill-focused, and built for curious divers who want real experience—not just a talk about it.

What you’ll do in the Discover Tec experience

Technical diving adds structure, planning, and specialized equipment to help divers handle more complex dives. Discover Tec is designed to introduce that world in a practical way.

In the water, you’ll:

• Learn about technical diving—what it is, how it differs from recreational diving, and why divers choose it.
• Try out back mounted doubles so you can feel how twin cylinders change trim, buoyancy, and overall setup.
• Try the newer side mount rig and experience the different configuration and feel in the water.
• Perform some of the procedures used in technical training—enough to give you a genuine sense of what training is like.

This isn’t about rushing you into the deep end. It’s about giving you a structured, supported first step so you can decide whether technical diving is your next direction.
